Add your milestones, watch them line up in order, and download the finished timeline.

How it works

Add a date, a short title, and an optional note for each milestone — your first date, moving in together, a trip, anything that mattered. Entries sort themselves into order automatically, and when you're happy with the list you can download the whole thing as a single image.

Why a timeline says more than a single date

An anniversary date tells you how long a relationship has lasted, but it doesn't tell you anything about its shape — the timeline does. Laying out a first date next to a first trip, a hard patch, a move, and a proposal turns a relationship from a single number into an actual story with texture, which is part of why timelines work so well as gifts: a framed one for a partner says "I remember all of this," not just "it's been three years."

What's worth adding as a milestone

The obvious ones are easy — first date, first "I love you," moving in together, engagement. The ones that make a timeline feel personal rather than generic are usually smaller: the trip that almost got cancelled, the apartment with the broken heater you both laugh about now, the first time you met each other's families. A timeline built only from the five "official" milestones every couple has tends to feel a little flat; one that mixes those with two or three specific, slightly odd memories usually feels much more like an actual relationship.

Notes are optional, but worth using

The date and title alone will build a clean timeline, but the short note field is where the personality comes through — a specific detail, an inside joke, a single sentence about why that day mattered. Keep it brief; a note that's a sentence or two reads better in the final image than a full paragraph crammed into a small space.

Turning it into something you keep

Since nothing here is saved automatically, the download button matters — once you're happy with the order and wording, download the image and it's yours to keep, print, or send. It pairs naturally with the Anniversary Counter if you also want a live-updating day count alongside the fixed, downloadable history.

Printing and sharing your timeline

The downloaded image is a standard PNG at a fixed width, which prints cleanly at most photo-print sizes and looks fine shared directly in a message or posted as-is. If you're planning to frame it, a local print shop can usually scale a PNG up without much quality loss as long as you're not trying to blow it up to poster size — for anything larger than a standard print, treat this as the layout draft and have it professionally reproduced at the size you actually want.

Pairing the timeline with an exact count

A timeline captures the moments; if you also want the running total — exact days, months, or years together — our Anniversary Counter tracks that separately and updates automatically, which is useful to have alongside a timeline that's otherwise a fixed snapshot from whenever you downloaded it.

Choosing which moments actually belong on it

A timeline crowded with every date and small event tends to be harder to actually enjoy looking at than one with six or seven genuinely meaningful entries. First trip together, moving in, a specific inside-joke moment — the ones that come to mind immediately without checking a calendar are usually the ones worth including; the rest can stay as memories without needing a place on the timeline itself.

FAQ

Is my timeline saved anywhere?

No. Everything is kept in your browser for the current session only. Download the image before closing the tab if you want to keep it.

How many milestones can I add?

There's no fixed limit — add as many as you want, and they'll automatically sort by date.

Can I reorder milestones manually?

Milestones sort automatically by date, so reordering happens by adjusting the date rather than dragging items around.

What size is the downloaded image?

A fixed standard width that prints cleanly at typical photo sizes — see the printing section above for scaling to larger sizes.
